Ideally i do want to talk to you all before we get into the OP. but i will put my interests at the bottom if you want advance notice of what i want to try.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your British Paras
Objectives:
-Paradrop into the AO (Mount Olympus)
-Establish defensive positions atop the flats. key areas are:
The Arudy Step
The Isaro Pass
Although you can use the whole of the Mountain top to your advantage
-Prevent any forces to pass you
-Stand fast and wait for the invading French forces to relieve you
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Units:
Command team-
Officer
Medic
FAC
Radio op
mortar gunner (using the BAF launcher mortar. there is a range table. ammo has to be in your inventory can be loaded by a assistant as well.)
x3 Rifle Sections
A,B and C. each has different weapons. One has GPMGs. 7.62 MMG. and the better marksmen rifle. one has Minmis (M249) with the LSW as its marksmen. and the 3rd replaces its ILAW (disposable) with a engineer. all teams have a NLAW. how ever you have the javelins for the dedicated AT.
x2 CAS pilots
(Pilots can edit there aircrafts load outs by ace interacting with the-
-aircraft near a rearm vic)
x2 Air supremacy Pilots
x3 extra medics. there's a medic of each team but if you need them there they are
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vics:
an assortment of Land rovers (gpmgs, gmgs, and a milian)
x2 A-10s
x2 Black wasp fighter jets
x1 black fish inf transport
x1 black fish vic transport
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Assists:
The BAF 60mm portable mortar. I would recommend taking this. there is no artillery computer, how ever its a simple system meant for shorter engagements so wind and elevation shouldn't be an issue. ammo is held in your inventory there is smokes, HE and airburst. i can give you sperate boxes dedicated to its ammo.
You have the ACE CSWs. M2 w/ shield, MK19 gmg and the super dragon wire guided disposable AT. Again ammo is stored in the inv, so recommend packing more in your boxes. you dont have to carry the ammo everywhere you just need it in your inv to reload the weapon via ace interact. to use the super dragon you need the Day sight found in the binocular section. attach it to the deployed launcher. with the GMG you can only attach it to the lowered M3 Tripod. but the M2 can be attached to both the normal M3 and M3 lowered Tripods. i can refresh you in game.
You have the Fortification tool to build better defences. please do not abuse.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Setting:
The Ex French island of Malden has fallen under the control of a fascist militia. The Origins are unknown, there motives are also unknown. all that is known is that its possible there being funded by some very wealthy people. they might as well be a professional army with there training and equipment. this is not going to be a cake walk.
French forces have sent a task force to invade from the south, as to avoid a bloody landed in the military beach's north, the step cliff east and the west is to close to the airfield.
in the mean time the British 16th air assault brigade will make various airborne landings through out the centre of the island. SAS and 1 para forces land in small teams to eliminate AAA Threats that would harass the main French forces. 2 para will land on what has been dubbed Mount Olympus. from there they will hold off any and all troop movements from that advantageous position.
Additional information:
There are 2 ways the enemy can send the forces, through the 2 roads leading atop Mount Olympus, and the main road west on the depression. The top brass of the UK and French military think the Militia will send more forces through the mountain because it offers then an elevated position. and the depression would become venerable to aircraft once we disable there AAA.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My interests:
This is not a defence mission as we think usually do it. there is no premade fall back point, no fix area you have to be in (other than the large AO i have given.) and you dont have to hold the ground.
logistics lines feeding supplies (you have what you bring. your given extra crates to load supplies)
I want to mess around with the idea of smaller teams. of 4-5 people. rather than 2 large teams. giving the higher ups more options when planning. as well as bring more leaders to the spotlight
If possible some new faces to the leader pool. not over all or anything, mainly just people stepping up as fireteam leads. just herding the smaller teams.
This mission is going to fun. adding new roles to the roster. like 4 pilot roles. 2 for air defence and 2 for CAS. but also new ideas like if smaller independent fire teams will allow for more flexibility for the mission makers and the leaders.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
of course nothing I've detailed has to be done. i do notice how it can be seen rather controlling, or simply just over stepping my bounds.
