Fly boys by Graf von Scyth
So. This is my idea for a new PVP op, based vaguely on the seek and destroy gamemode. Please give me your thoughts.
Each team will be given a base, these bases were custom made by me on the Chernarus map. On this base each team will custom place 5-8 (Depending on player numbers) of a particular prop that I have yet to decide around their base. The teams are tasked with destroying the props placed by the other team. A certain number (Dependent on player numbers) of these props will be outside, exposed to the air, allowing them to be attacked from the air and another number (also dependent on player numbers) may be placed indoors.
However, the teams are deliberately being made smaller, partially due to people generally not liking PVP all that much and partially due to balancing.
Each team will be in a discord call and ACRE will be disabled for quicker communication and to not give away positions while speaking.
At random intervals, the chaos actor will spawn in. The chaos actor is an indfor unit controlled either by the spectators or by me. It will be armed with an M134 minigun, but will be restricted to walking speed. The chaos actor cannot destroy the props.
Both teams will be armed with the same selection of equipment.
Respawn time will be dropped to the lowest I can get it while still retaining loadouts, with the intention being that dying doesn't punish the player too hard.
Rules:
1) Iron sights only, unless you are the team marksman. Team marksman is only allowed up to a x4 sight. This is intended to be a pretty CQB heavy (Although not exclusively) mission as giving the players too much range with their small arms would make defence too easy.
2) No lock ons, with the exception of anti-aircraft missiles aimed at helicopters or planes, everything must be dumbfire. Don't want to make it too easy to just attack the props or players from afar. Although, since the chaos actor is not a player of the game, there are no rules regarding engaging him, fire away.
3) No spawn camping. Both teams will spawn on their respective main airfields, please don't spawncamp them. Additionally, you will not be able to place your props too close to your spawn as that would force your opponents to spawncamp you in order to destroy the prop.
4) Try to stay within the game area as designated on the map.
5) Be considerate to the other team. If you're preparing a strategy or a tactic, and you figure it's not fair on the other team, please don't use it.
