The year is 2028
You are a unit of Austrian peacekeepers.
The tension in the US is palpable as a string of bombings and shootings in various places directed against the government. A few days ago, the government announced the imminent confiscation of all weapons from citizens and the repeal of the constitution. Your peacekeepers had been deployed to try and help avoid hostilities, but hasn't stopped the local Virginian militia, "The Boojahideen" from taking up arms and threatening violence. The government sent troops to the area to quell the unrest.
Yesterday, several Boojahideen militiamen approached your mission station asking for Asylum. Although you've not been able to provide it, you promised them temporary protection, although your official stance was in support of the government. After this, the General tasked with putting down the insurrection requested that you surrender the militiamen to them, which you refused. In the night, the Boojahideen shelled your camp with captured mortars, as they consider you to be supporting the state, killing the defectors and several peacekeepers.
The gates of Janus have opened and there is no shutting them. Both sides have deemed you to be their enemies and are now hostile. There is only one thing to do now, flee.
Objectives:
1) Flee the area.
Notes:
1) Since both the militia and the army are hostile, running into either will mean a gunfight. You have no friendlies in the area.
2) This all started as an attempt to stop the militia fighting the state, and given that you've failed, there will be occasional battles taking place between militia and state forces. You can choose to intervene, but it's ill-advised given that you are despised by both sides.
3) Given the events of last night, we know the militia have and are willing to use mortars.
4)Most of the surrounding towns likely have either militia or military presence. You should probably try and avoid them, but once the militia realizes you're on the move, they'll likely take steps to hunt you down.
