Syrian newspapers briefly reported about a tomb being uncovered that contained a body and some strange artifacts. some of them were reporting that the body was some kind of human/owl hybrid and rumors in the region claimed it is one of the old gods.
Although the reports seem to have been silenced and there has been no news, the soviets seem interested by something and Syria seems to have dissolved into some kind of civil war.
two doctors from the neighboring Iraq have been called in to assist with some kind of study on the discovered tomb, we have kidnapped them and replaced them with our own operatives. they have not reported back for a while though...
